14.3 Operation
Press the On / Off switch. The machine runs up to now.
Place the tool on the palm rest and start with the processing of the work-piece.
Make sure the processing result on the machine, the speed, etc.
Turn off the machine. Wait until the workpiece ceased to rotate.
Modify possibly speed, tool selection, position palmrest etc.
Woodturning is a creative and challenging craft or an art form. A visit to a woodturning seminar is
recommended For further information about proper turning.
15 MAINTENANCE
DANGER
For cleaning and maintenance with connected machine:
Property damage and injuries caused by unintentional switching on of the
machine!
Therefore: Switch off the machine before starting maintenance and discon-
nect from the power supply !!!
The machine requires little maintenance and is low on parts, which must undergo a mainten-
ance operator.
Faults or defects that may affect the safety of the machine, must be rectified immediately.
Repair work may be carried out only by qualified personnel! The complete and utter cleansing
ensures a long service life of the machine and constitutes a safety requirement.
After each shift the machine and all its parts must be thoroughly cleaned by dust and chips
sucked through the suction and all other waste and debris are removed by compressed air jet.
At least every six months or every 500 working hours the lateral cover of the machine to lose
weight, to have a full access for cleaning of its parts.
15.1 Lubrication
Clean the machine and its parts with a strong jet of compressed air from wood dust and other
material residues, the moving parts in addition to clean with a brush or a soft brush. Apply a thin
layer of oil on all moving parts of the machine.
15.2 Checking the drive belt
Check every 50 hours the status of your belts. Determine for frayed belts cause. Check whether
the Transmission belt pulleys and uneven or rough surfaces are formed by use of the machine.
These accelerate the wear process! These can optionally be replaced by Holzmann. Frayed and
replace overstretched belts.
