Measure the secondary coil resistance with the spark plug cap
in place by checking for continuity between the plug cap and
black/ yellow terminal
RESISTANCE: 6.5 - 10 .0 kg at 20

If the resistance is oul of range, remove the spark plug cap and
measure the resistance between the wire and black/yellow
terminal.
RESISTANCE: 2.5-3. 5 kU at 20

ALTERNATOR
INSPECTION
NOTE
This test can be performed with the alternator installed in the
engine.
Disconnect the stator coil wire connector (Black IRed) and measure
the resistance between the wire terminal and ground.
RESISTANCE: 500 - 900 n at 20

Refer to section 9 for st ator coil replacement.
IGNITION PULSE GENERATOR

NOTE
This test can be p erformed with the ignition pulse generator
installed in the engine.
Disconnect the i gnition pu l se generator wire connector ( Blue /
Yellow) and measu re t he r esistance be t ween the termin al and
ground.
RESISTANCE: 50 - 200 n at 20 " C !68 " F)
Refer to section 9 for ignition pulse genera t or replacement .
