CYLINDER
REMOVAL
Remove the following:
-
cylinder head (section 6)
- cylinder mounting bolt.
- cam chain guide roiler bolt, washer and guide roller.
-
cylinder
NOTE
Keep the cam chain from falling into
the
crankcase
when
remov-
ing the cVlinder.
Remove the
dowel
pins. O-ring and gasket.
PISTON
REMOVAL
Stuff
a shop
towel
into the crankcase.
Remove the piston pin clips
with
needle nose ptiers.
NOTE
Do
not let
the
clips fall into
the
crankcase.
Press the piston pin out
of
the piston and remove
the
piston.
Remove
the
piston rings, being careful
not
damage
them
.
NOTE
Spread each piston ring and remove
it
by
lifting
up
at
a point op-
posite the gap.
