UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS
If the choke knob was pulled to
the ON position to start the engine,
gradually push it to the OFF
position as the engine warms up.
Also, as the engine warms up, the
throttle grip can be turned to the
SLOW position without stalling.
Before getting underway, allow
the engine to warm-up sufficiently
to ensure good performance.
During the warm-up period, check
the oil pressure indicator (p. )
and cooling system indicator
(p. ).
If the indicators show any
abnormal condition, immediately
stop the engine and determine the
cause of the problem. Refer to
on
p. and .
To start a cold engine, pull the
choke knob to the ON position. To
restart a warm engine, leave the
choke knob in the OFF position.
Pull the starter grip lightly until
you feel resistance, then pull
briskly in the direction of the
arrow as shown above.
Return the starter grip gently.
Align the START position with
the mark for starting the engine.
