4. CONTROLS
Starter Grip
Pulling the starter grip operates the
recoil starter to crank the engine for
starting. Set the shift lever in the
NEUTRAL position before starting.
The “Neutral Starting System”
prevents the starter rope from being
pulled out for starting the engine
unless the shift lever is set in the
NEUTRAL position.
Use the shift lever to run the boat in
forward or reverse gear, or to cut off
the engine power from the propeller.
There are three positions for the shift
lever.
The starter rope can be pulled out for
starting the engine with the shift lever
in the NEUTRAL position.
FORWARD: The boat moves ahead.
NEUTRAL: The engine power is
cut off from the
propeller. The boat
does not move.
REVERSE: The boat reverses.
