8.5. Checking the functions before using the instrument
Before installing the HERMetic instrument as described in section 9.10, the following tests are recommended
to ensure that the instrument is ready to work.
8.5.1. Battery
Refer to section 10.2 "
Checking the battery".
8.5.2. Temperature
Switch on the unit.
The buzzer shall beep every 2 sec.
When the temperature is displayed, check that it
shows the surrounding temperature.
8.5.3. Ullage
Switch on the unit.
The buzzer shall beep every 2 sec.
Check the ullage in a glass of water.
Check the ullage by immersing the ultrasonic gap
sensor but not the electrodes (position A); The
buzzer shall beep continuously.
8.5.4. Interface
Switch on the unit.
The buzzer shall beep every 2 sec.
Check the interface in a glass of water.
Check the interface by immersing the interface
electrodes also (position B). The buzzer shall
beep intermittently.
