  If your Honeywell Portable Generator engine suddenly stops, it could be due to several reasons. It may be caused by no fuel, in which case you should add fuel. Another possible cause is low engine oil, so check the oil level and add engine oil if needed. For HW1000i models only, the fuel cap vent might be closed; turn the fuel cap vent on. Lastly, an electrical overload on the generator could be the issue. Try restarting the generator and verify if the overload indicator light is illuminated. If so, disconnect the load, restart the generator, reduce the load, and then reconnect to the generator.

  If your Honeywell Portable Generator will not start or starts and runs rough, several factors could be the cause. Here are some things to check: * Ensure the engine switch or fuel valve is turned on. * Add fuel if the tank is empty. * If the fuel is stale, drain the fuel tank and fill it with fresh fuel. * Check the engine oil level and add oil if it's low. * Make sure the spark plug wire (cap) is securely connected to the spark plug. * Inspect the spark plug; check or replace it if faulty. * Adjust the choke position. * Clean or replace the air filter if it's dirty. * Replace the fuel filter if it's dirty. * Clean the spark arrestor screen.
