7. SPECIFICATIONS
7.2 DETECTABLE GASES
The Searchline Excel Open-Path gas detector (short, medium or long range) will detect the
following hydrocarbon gases, individually or in a mixture, in the range 0 — 5LEL.m:

The Ethylene version of Excel is used to detect the following gases and vapours (it will also
respond to the hydrocarbons above, but is only calibrated for the following):

Ethanol C

OH
Note: The Excel Ethylene version has not been evaluated as part of the performance testing
relating to the FM approval and therefore is not considered part of the performance
approval.
The Cross Duct Excel will detect all of the above gases.
