6.4 Testing Stock Reel Low Sensors
To test the label stock reel and thermal print stock reel sensor remove the stock reels from the
mandrels. Place your finger over the sensors. When the sensor is blocked, the error indicator on
the switch bank should not illuminate. Remove your finder from the sensor. The error indictor
should now illuminate. Test both sensors to ensure that they are operating correctly.
6.5 Communication Problems
Check to ensure all cables, both serial and parallel between your PC and PL1200 labeling unit are
connected correctly and are stable.
Next, check the contacts on the docking station. If there is dirt or debris, clean the contacts with
alcohol or any appropriate contact cleaner. Should any damage to the contacts be found, please
contact the factory for replacement information.
6.6 No Power to the PL1200 when Docked
Check the power plug in the wall outlet as well as the power connector to the PL1200 labeling
unit. After checking power to the docking station, make sure that the labeler is docked and
seated correctly.
CAUTION
Use caution when checking for power. Live exposed wires can cause shock
And electrocution.
