Before removing the TouchPad button board, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 26).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 27).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 29).
Remove the TouchPad button board:
1. Disconnect the TouchPad ZIF cable from the TouchPad button board (1).
2. Disconnect the system board ZIF cable from the TouchPad button board (2).
3. Remove the two Phillips M2.0×2.0 screws (3) that secure the board to the computer.
4. Lift the bracket from on top of the TouchPad button board (4).
5. Lift the board and then slide it outward from under the clips that hold it on place to remove it (5).
TIP: The top edge of the board sits under clips. Be sure to slide the board out from under the clips to
prevent damage to the board or clips.
Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad button board.
