What to do if HP 6400/8400 shows HTTP status 404 or 503 error?
    • K
      Kenneth MathewsJul 31, 2025
If you encounter a 404 error with your HP Storage, it might be because HP Command View EVA is initializing or a .frm (HTML) file is missing. Try refreshing the browser. If the issue persists, reinstall HP Command View EVA. For a 503 error, HP Command View EVA may be down. Retry the request when HP Command View EVA is back up. Also, if the browser times out, retry the request when the appliance and HP Command View EVA are up.

Why HP Storage shows 'No storage systems found'?
    • A
      Adam RichardsonAug 7, 2025
The 'No storage systems found' message in HP Command View EVA can occur for several reasons. It might be due to a communication problem between the management server and the controllers. Check the connection configuration. If HP Command View EVA is starting up, enter the correct password or disable the password on the controller. Verify that switches are correctly zoned. Also, if HP Command View EVA was restarted during a communication failure, ensure the controllers are functioning, check cable connections and switch zoning, and then click Discover. Finally, ensure the World Wide ID (WWID) is entered if the controllers are waiting for it.

How to fix 'Unknown storage system' error in HP 6400/8400 Storage?
    • M
      Mr. Gabriel LynnAug 15, 2025
If you receive an 'Unknown storage system' error, HP Command View EVA may have lost communication with the controllers. This could be due to the HBA in the management server timing out commands or the controllers running an unrecognized version of XCS. Perform a Rediscover operation to initiate new commands to the controller.

What to do if HP 6400/8400 Storage view is not set or view list is null?
    • J
      James ParkerAug 23, 2025
If the view is not set or the view list is null, HP Command View EVA cannot build the view of the storage system. Click OK, wait one to five minutes, and try the command again. If the issue persists, stop and restart HP Command View EVA.
