Power up the server (on page 24, "Powering up and configuring the server" on page 37).
Remove the air baffle
CAUTION: For proper cooling do not operate the server without the access panel, baffles,
expansion slot covers, or blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components,
minimize the amount of time the access panel is open.
1. Power down the server (on page 24).
2. Extend or remove the server from the rack ("Extend the server from the rack" on page 24).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 25).
CAUTION: Do not detach the cable that connects the battery pack to the cache module.
Detaching the cable causes any unsaved data in the cache module to be lost.
4. Remove the battery pack from the air baffle.
5. Remove the air baffle.
