Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 42).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 31).
3. Disconnect the battery (see Battery on page 33).
TIP: You do not have to remove the heat sink to remove the system board. You can remove the heat sink
with the system board still installed.
Remove the heat sink:
1. Loosen the four captive Phillips screws (1) that secure the heat sink to the system board.
2. Remove the heat sink (2).
