memory
space
in
the
HP-16C.
This
memory
space
consists
of
203
bytes
(eight
bits to
one
byte),
all
of
which
are
initially*
allocated
to
data
storage.
However,
as
you
enter
program
instructions
(as
explained
in
section
7,
Programming
Basics)
memory
space
is
automatically
allocated
to
program
memory.

The
automatic
partitioning
of
memory
space
from
data
storage
into
programming
takes
place
in
segments
of
seven
bytes,
each
segment
worth
seven
program
lines.
Starting
with
the
first
line
you
store
in
a
program
and
continuing
with
each
succeeding
seventh
line,
seven
bytes
(lines)
of
memory
are
converted
from
data
storage
into
program memory.
