1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 34).
5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 42).
6. Remove the USB port shield (see USB port shield on page 50).
NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the
defective system board and installed on the replacement system board.
WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 54)
Fan/heat sink assembly (see Fan/heat sink assembly on page 56)
Memory modules (see Memory module on page 58)
Remove the system board:
1. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
(1) Audio/USB board ZIF connector cable
(2) RTC battery cable
(3) Webcam/microphone module cable
(4) Speaker cable
(5) WLAN antenna cables
