6. Remove the secondary PCI riser cage ("Remove the PCI riser cage" on page 21).
CAUTION: When connecting or disconnecting the cache module cable, the connectors on
the cache module and cable are susceptible to damage. Avoid excessive force and use
caution to avoid damage to these connectors.
7. If you intend to use an FBWC module, install the module on the storage controller. Depending on the
controller model, the cable connector on the cache module might be facing up or down when the
module is installed on the controller board.
a. Connect the cache module backup power cable to the module.
b. Install the cache module on the storage controller.
8. Install the storage controller.
H240 and P440 cards can only be installed in slot 1 of the primary PCI riser cage.
9. If you installed a cache module on the storage controller, connect the cache module cable to the
system board connector. For cache module cabling information, see "FBWC cabling (on page 85)."
10. Connect all necessary internal cables to the storage controller. For internal drive cabling information,
see "Storage cabling (on page 80)."
11. If you are planning to install a Smart Storage Battery, install it now ("Installing a Smart Storage
Battery" on page 42).
12. Install the secondary PCI riser cage ("Install the PCI riser cage" on page 23).
