The current Japanese translation gives a wrong meaning for the word “Complete” in the CMC
Installation Wizard.
This issue will be corrected in a future release.
On Windows 2008 Server, if proxy is configured, the VSA installer cannot connect to the ESX
Server
If proxy settings are configured on the Windows 2008 Server on which you are attempting to
run the VSA installer, the installer is unable to connect to the ESX Server. Before running the VSA
installer, you must disable any proxy settings on the Windows 2008 Server.
iSCSI
CHAP name in multi-byte characters requires the server to be configured with the IQN name
You must create the server first and then edit that server to add the CHAP name:
1. Create a new server and select CHAP not required, and enter the IQN.
2. Next, select CHAP required and enter the CHAP information.
3. Click OK. The server is created with both CHAP and the IQN information.
You can also edit an existing server to add the IQN if necessary:
1. Log off the target in the iSCSI initiator.
2. In the CMC, navigate to the server. Right-click and select Edit Server.
3. In the Authentication section, select CHAP not required and enter the IQN in the Initiator
Node Name field.
4. Select CHAP required and click OK.
5. Reconnect the volume in the iSCSI initiator.
iSCSI sessions fail if server configuration is changed
Due to a code enhancement, if any of the following items for the iSCSI server configuration are
changed, all server connections will be disconnected:
iSCSI initiator node name
CHAP required or not required
CHAP name, target secret, and initiator secret (if CHAP is required)
This change ensures that the connections be re-established as soon as changes are implemented.
