NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the memory module to remove the system board. Remove the memory
module only if it needs to be replaced.
Before removing the memory modules, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 14).
2. Remove the top cover (see Top cover on page 14).
3. Remove the memory fan (see Fans on page 16).
Remove the memory modules:
1. Press in on the sides of the memory module cover (1), and then lift and remove the cover from the
computer (2).
2. Spread the two retention clips outward (1) until the memory module tilts up at a 45º angle.
