CAUTION: To prevent an unresponsive system, replace the wireless module only with a wireless module 
authorized for use in the computer by the governmental agency that regulates wireless devices in your country 
or region. If you replace the module and then receive a warning message, remove the module to restore device 
functionality, and then contact technical support. 
Follow these steps to remove the WLAN module:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in hibernation, turn the 
computer on, then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then 
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the top cover (see Top Cover on page 14).
5. Remove the fans (see Fans on page 16).
6. Remove the antenna (see Antennas on page 18).
7. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 19).
8. Remove the SSD (see Solid state drive on page 20).
9. Remove the heat sink (see Heat sink on page 21).
10. Disconnect the antenna cables from the module if not already disconnected.
11. Remove the Phillips screw (1), and then pull the module out of the socket (2).
Reverse this procedure to install the WLAN module.
