HPE MSA 1040 controller hardware overview
You can purchase the HPE MSA 1040 as either a large form factor (LFF) 12-drive or small form factor (SFF) 24-drive storage system.
Note
The HPE MSA 1040 storage system supports four total enclosures, including the storage enclosure, for a maximum of 99 SFF drives or
48 LFF drives. Mixed LFF and SFF enclosures are supported; see the following table for the maximum LFF and SFF drive configurations for
each controller enclosure. Note that mixing LFF and SFF expansion enclosures yields values in between those shown.
