HPE Smart Storage Hybrid Capacitor
The HPE Smart Storage Hybrid Capacitor supports the following devices:
HPE Smart Array SR controllers
The capacitor pack can support up to three devices.
This server supports the HPE Smart Storage Hybrid Capacitor with the 260mm cable.
Before installing the HPE Smart Storage Hybrid Capacitor, verify that the system BIOS meets the minimum
firmware requirements to support the capacitor pack.
IMPORTANT: If the system BIOS or controller firmware is older than the minimum recommended
firmware versions, the capacitor pack will only support one device.
The capacitor pack is fully charged after the system boots.

Installing an energy pack
Prerequisites
• Make sure that a Smart Array P-class type-p Gen10 controller is installed.
• Make sure that you have the following items available:
◦ Storage controller backup power cable (ships with the controller)
◦ Energy pack option
• If you are installing the HPE Smart Storage Hybrid Capacitor, verify that the system BIOS meets the
minimum firmware requirements.
Procedure
1. Back up all server data.
2. Power down the server on page 23.
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
