  If the ignition has failed 10 times on your HTP Water Heater, try the following: First, press the Power button to clear the Error Code (it will also automatically reset after one hour, up to three times). If the error happens again: 1. Monitor the gas pressure to the water heater while in operation, ensuring it's between 3.5 and 14” WC. 2. Check the gas valve wire and flame detection sensor, ensuring connections are secure; normal operating settings for the flame detection sensor are more than 2.5DC before ignition, less than 2.5DC after ignition. 3. Check the igniter transformer for proper connection. 4. Clean the spark igniter with steel wool to remove oxides and ensure proper separation (3-4 mm). Replace the spark igniter if damaged. 5. If the error happens again: 1. Check if the dip switch High Fire setting is ON (switches 6 and 7 should be OFF for normal operation). 2. Check the exhaust temperature sensor, ensuring connections are secure. 3. Check the sensor resistance; if resistance is zero, replace the sensor. 4. Check the exhaust vent for blockage. If the problem persists, replace the control or the heat exchanger.
