FortheHydro‐Smart115models:
In any areas subject to freezing temperatures, Hydro‐Smart highly recommends an indoor
installation with an indoor model. In such an installation, free zing issues can only occur if
coldair entersthroughtheventing intothe heat exchanger, whether by negativepressures
withintheinstallationlocationorbystrongoutsidewinds.
Hydro‐Smart also highly recommends the use of a back flow vent damper to minimize the
amountofcoldairenteringthroughtheexhaustventingwhenthewaterheaterisoff.
It is the installer’s responsibility tobe aware of freezing issuesand take all preventative measures.
