Step-by-Step
To access the terminal’s Boot level:
Step Action Terminal display
1 Press the key sequence: Function 3, Enter. 0(5&+$17)81&7,21
2 Immediately after you press Enter, press the
following orange keys simultaneously:
nCard Verify
nVoid
n Offline
Continue to hold until the terminal beeps twice.
The terminal performs a self-test and displays the
EPROM version.

The terminal performs a self-test and displays the
Memory Page status.

EPROM version.

If the terminal’s initialization has been deleted by
performing Function 9, 9, Enter, 9, Enter, and 1,
Enter at the terminal’s Application level, the
following message appears on terminals with
EPROMs less than 2.00.

OTE: FE means Format Error, indicating you are
in Boot level.

If the terminal’s initialization has been deleted by
performing Function 9, 9, Enter, 9, Enter, and 1,
Enter at the terminal’s Application level, the
following message appears on terminals with
EPROMs higher than 2.00.

3 If you want to return to the Idle prompt at the
terminal’s Application level, press Function 3,
Enter.

5 If you want to delete the current terminal software
application, refer to “Deleting the Current
