this example, let's assume
that

think
you
have a
file name FACT&FIG
on
a diskette. Here's how
you
make sure:
With DOS ready

displayed), insert
the
diskette
into drive A:.
Type:
dir
fact&fig
r-....

and press the
Enter
key.
If FACT&FIG
is
indeed on the diskette, its filename
(FACT&FIG), its extension (in this case, blanks), its
size, and its update date are shown.
If
the
diskette does
not
have a file named FACT&FIG,
then after a second
or
two
the message:
r-....
File
not
found
A>_
is
displayed.
