ICE MACHINE DOES NOT CYCLE INTO HARVEST WHEN
THE HARVEST FLOAT IS DOWN/CLOSED
(OLD MODELS)
NOTE: The ice machine will make a thick or double slab
when a new freeze cycle is started with ice already
present on the evaporator.
Two of the most common scenarios are:
• The machines exceeds the 65 minute freeze time
and enters into an automatic harvest, but the ice
does not come off the plate.
• The ice damper/bin switch is opened/closed in the
harvest cycle before the ice releases.
If the harvest float is suspected to be the problem, use
the following procedure.
Step 1 With the machine in the freeze cycle, use a
jumper wire across the two (red) high-level float
switch connectors and the two (blue) low-level float
switch connectors, at the control box, to complete the
two circuits. If after 5 seconds the machine goes into
harvest, move to step 2
NOTE: If the machine continues in the freeze cycle,
the control board is causing the malfunction.
Step 2 Remove both float and test them for
continuity. Refer to "Float Switch" on page 128.
