SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
The 'ICE/OFF/WASH' switch must be in the 'ICE' position
and the ice damper must be closed before the ice machine
will start.
The following is the primary sequence of operation.
Initial Start-Up or Start-Up
After Automatic Shutdown
1. Water Flush
The dump valve is energized to discard any remaining
water in the water trough for 22 seconds.
2. Pressure Equalization
At the same time that the dump valve is energized, the
hot gas valve also energizes for 28 seconds to allow for
pressure equalization and to reduce compressor starting
torque.
Freeze Sequence
3. Prechill
After the 28 second equalization, the dump valve de-
energizes and the compressor and condenser fan motor
energize and run for approximately 2 minutes, with no
water circulation, to lower the temperature of the
evaporator before the water pump is energized.
NOTE: The fan motor is wired through a fan cycle pressure
control and will not cycle on until/unless the compressor is
running.
4. Water Fill
At the same time that the compressor & condenser fan
motor are energized, the water inlet valve also energizes
to allow water to fill the water trough, until the float
switch(s) is satisfied.
