What to do if Icom IP501H does not turn on?
    • L
      Lisa LeeAug 18, 2025
If your Icom Radio does not power on, there could be several reasons. First, ensure the battery pack is correctly connected and clean the battery pack terminals. If that doesn't work, the battery may be exhausted and needs charging. Alternatively, the battery pack’s over-discharge protection circuitry might be activated; in this case, remove the battery pack, charge it for a while, reattach it, and then try turning the power on again.

Why is the charging indicator blinking orange on my Icom Radio?
    • B
      Brenda JohnsonAug 21, 2025
If the charging indicator on your Icom Radio blinks orange, or alternately blinks orange and green, it could be due to several reasons. Ensure the battery pack is properly inserted. It may also be that you are charging the battery pack outside of the chargeable temperature range (10°C to 40°C (+50°F to +104°F)). Another potential cause is a loose connection of charging transceivers, so you may need to clean the charger terminals. Lastly, make sure the transceiver power is OFF while charging.
