2.8. Replacing Batteries
The DE-5000 is powered by a single, standard, 9 V,
alkaline battery. When the battery is at full power, the
display shows . When the battery power is
running out, the display shows .
Caution: To maintain the meter within
specifications, replace the battery as
soon as the display shows
.
To replace batteries, proceed as follows:
1.
Turn the meter off and
remove any test leads and
external adapters.
2.
Remove the tilt-stand.
3.
Remove the four screws
holding the battery cover
and take the cover off.
4.
Replace the battery with a
standard 9 V alkaline battery.
Caution: observe correct polarity.
5. Replace the cover and the screws removed in Step 3.
