Recovery Procedure 2 - Update Scanner Firmware
If the scanner's currently installed firmware is not the latest version,
connect to the scanner using a web browser.
Log in to "Poweruser" using "Poweruser" for username and
password.
Select "Updates & Uploads".
In "Update Scanner Firmware", update the scanner with the
firmware version you previously downloaded from the Customer
Service Portal.
Recovery Procedure 3 - Adjustments
Finally, it may be necessary to make a few adjustments.
Note: All scanners require that you perform at least one new white
balance.

described here in the Setup Guide in the "Performing Setup" chapter.
