11. Storage
Store the AlphaCore
5
Controller in its original
packaging.
For information on storage temperature and conditions
please refer to Section 18: Technical Description and
Specification.
12. Infection Control
and Cleaning
Infection control and routine cleaning should be
carried out in accordance with the local Infection
Control Policy.
Products must be decontaminated prior to servicing
or return to the supplier. If returning product to
Inspiration Healthcare Limited or its authorised
distributor, a decontamination certificate must
accompany the product with a copy of the certificate
affixed securely to the box.
Ensure the AlphaCore

Controller is disconnected from
the mains electricity supply before cleaning.
Clean the AlphaCore
5
Controller and mattresses/
blanket with care using a damp soapy cloth and/or
disinfectant wipes (pH neutral or alkaline). There
is no need to disconnect the mattress/blanket from
the AlphaCore
5
Controller during routine cleaning.
After cleaning the AlphaCore
5
Controller and
mattresses/blanket, dry them thoroughly before
use. Preparation and use of any cleaning agent
must be carried out in accordance with the
instructions for use of the manufacturer/supplier
of the cleaning agent.
Do not immerse the AlphaCore
5
Controller in fluids.
For mattresses and blanket only, where higher level of
decontamination is required, use Sodium Hypochlorite
(bleach) solution or similar (up to 10,000 ppm
available Chlorine). After cleaning with bleach
solution, the mattress/blanket should be wiped
down to remove residual cleaning agent and dried.
Reusable or Single Use Temperature Probes
recommended for this system should be cleaned
or disposed of after use in accordance with their
manufacturer’s instructions.
The mattresses and blanket are reusable
and must be inspected prior to each use.
If the surface is perforated, or damaged
by considerable wear or creasing they should be
discarded as described in Section 14: Disposal.
Do not immerse the mattress, blanket or AlphaCore

Controller in fluids.
Do not process the mattress, blanket or AlphaCore
5
Controller in an autoclave, steriliser or automatic
washer-disinfector.
Do not use phenolic based products, abrasives or
harsh chemicals for cleaning.
Do not use cleaning or decontamination methods
different from those recommended without first
checking with Inspiration Healthcare Limited that the
proposed methods will not damage the equipment.
