Overview

The Instant Pot Programmable Electric Pressure Cooker is a versatile 7-in-1 multi-function kitchen appliance designed to simplify everyday cooking. It combines the functionalities of a pressure cooker, sauté pan, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, yogurt maker, and food warmer. Controlled by a microprocessor, it features 14 intelligent programs that automate cooking processes, reducing cooking time by up to 70% compared to conventional methods and preserving more vitamins and minerals in ingredients.

Function Description:

The Instant Pot offers a wide range of cooking functions, each controlled by dedicated keys on its panel:

  • Pressure Cooking: This is the core function, suitable for "Rice," "Soup," "Poultry," "Meat/Stew," "Bean/Chili," "Multigrain," "Porridge," "Steam," and "Manual" settings. It operates at high pressure (10.2 ~ 11.6 psi / 70 ~ 80 kPa) or low pressure (5.8 ~ 7.2 psi / 40 ~ 50 kPa), with a steam release pressure limit of 16.68 psi (115 kPa). The "Pressure" key toggles between high and low pressure settings for applicable functions. The "Adjust" key allows users to modify pressure keeping time for most pressure cooking functions, except "Manual" and "Rice" (which is fully automatic).
  • Soup: For making various soups and broths. The "Adjust" key can be used to select shorter or longer cooking durations. The Instant Pot maintains pressure and temperature to prevent heavy boiling, resulting in clear broths and intact ingredients.
  • Meat/Stew: Designed for cooking meat and stew. The "Adjust" key allows changing cooking time to achieve desired meat texture, with "More" duration suitable for bone-stripping effects.
  • Bean/Chili: Specifically for cooking beans and chili. "More" duration can be selected via the "Adjust" key for well-cooked beans.
  • Poultry: Programmed for poultry dishes. The "Adjust" key can change cooking time from "Normal" to "More" or "Less" based on texture preference and poultry quantity.
  • Rice: A fully automated program for regular or parboiled rice. Cooking duration adjusts automatically based on food content. The "Adjust" key has no effect on this program. It can cook as little as one cup of rice with the correct water ratio.
  • Multigrain: For mixed grains like wild rice, hard brown rice, and mung beans. It offers "Normal" (40 mins), "Less" (20 mins), and "More" (45 mins warm water soaking + 60 mins pressure cooking) settings via the "Adjust" key. "More" is suitable for harder grains like dry split corn.
  • Porridge: For various grain porridges. The "Adjust" key selects cooking duration, with "Normal" for rice porridge and "More" for mixed grains and beans. After cooking, natural release is recommended to prevent splattering.
  • Steam: For steaming vegetables, seafood, or reheating with the included steam rack. "Quick Release" is recommended for vegetables and seafood to prevent overcooking. It uses 1-2 cups of water and 1-2 minutes pressure keeping time. The "Steam" function heats continuously at full power, so a trivet is necessary to elevate food above water.
  • Slow Cook: Transforms the Instant Pot into a slow cooker. Users can adjust cooking duration from 0.5 to 20 hours using the "+" or "-" keys. The "Adjust" key changes heating levels to "Normal" (medium), "More" (high), and "Less" (low), similar to traditional slow cookers. The lid can be open or closed during slow cooking.
  • Sauté: For open-lid sautéing, browning, or simmering. The "Adjust" key changes operating temperature to "Normal" (160-176°C / 320-349°F) for regular sauté, "More" (175-210°C / 347-410°F) for stir-frying/blackening, and "Less" (135-150°C / 275-302°F) for simmering/reducing. The lid must remain open during sautéing to prevent pressure buildup.
  • Yogurt: Offers three programs: making yogurt, pasteurizing milk, and making Jiu Niang (fermented glutinous rice). For yogurt, "More" mode (displaying "boil") pasteurizes milk at 180°F/83°C. After cooling, yogurt starter is added, and fermentation time is set using "+" and "-" keys. For Jiu Niang, glutinous rice is fermented at 30-34°C (86-93.2°F) in "Less" mode.
  • Keep Warm: Automatically activates after cooking for up to 10 hours (63-78°C / 145-172°F). It can also be manually activated from standby by pressing "Keep Warm/Cancel." Duration can be adjusted from 10 minutes to 99 hours 50 minutes.
  • Timer: For delayed cooking, allowing users to set a delay of up to 24 hours before a selected program starts. Not applicable to "Keep Warm," "Yogurt," or "Sauté" functions.
