3.2.5.2 16x2.5” Hot Swap HDD SAS/SATA Cable Guide (with SAS expander)
SAS drive configurations consisting of more than 8 drives may require the addition of a SAS Expander card. In a 16x2.5” system configuration, the SAS expander
RES3FV288 must be installed in any available PCIe add-in slot, or when using RES3TV360, the card must be installed between the system fans and the
backplane of the HDD cages. Intel provides two SAS expander options to support this drive configuration:
