Setting up Ethernet/Wi-Fi transmission
Wi-Fi transmission distance
The Wi-Fi transmission distance/range of the camera is
approximately 50 m (164 ft.) in open air applications.
Note: The transmission distance may vary due to the presence
of physical obstacles, such as trees, walls, elevators, fire doors,
furniture, etc. Avoid very solid walls and metallic objects in the
transmission path. Other Wi-Fi networks (for example Wi-Fi,
WiMAX) operating on 2.4 GHz and certain types of devices
(e.g., microwave oven point-to-point Wi-Fi transmission) can
cause interference with your network. The result would lead to a
reduction in transmission distance/range.
To add the camera to a local network via Wi-Fi (WPS):
1. Provide power to the camera using POE (Power over
Ethernet), the included transformer, or an external
transformer using the included DC plug.
2. Remove the camera cover using the included hex wrench.
3. Enable the routers WPS enrollment using the WPS button
on the router or through the router utility app.
4. If needed, enter the PIN code found on the router.
5. Once the router’s WPS enrollment is enabled, press the
RST/WPS button inside the camera housing to pair with
the router.
