7.1Cleaning
1.Unplugproductbeforewashing.
2.Makesureallelectricalparts(motors,controlboxandpendant)
arenotdamagedandthatallconnectionportsareplugged.DO
NOTallowliquidstoenterelectricalcomponents.
3.Disinfectandwashallcomponents.DONOTsubmergethe
bedframeorelectricalparts.
4.DONOTpowerwashorsteam-clean.Usehouseholdwater
pressureonly.
5.Rinsethoroughlywithwater(maximumtemperature110°F
or43°C).DONOTusesolvents,bleach,alcohol,petroleum
products,causticagents,orhighlyalkalineoracidicagentsto
cleanthebed.
6.Retracteachactuatortotheminimumstrokelengthbefore
washingtoavoiddegreasingthepistonrod.
7.Dryallcomponentsbeforestoring.
7.2AnnualMaintenanceCheck
•Inspectthecoveringofthebed’scontrolpanelandthepatient
controlpaneltoassurethatthecoveringisnotcrackedor
damaged.
•Inspectfordamagedorloosewiring.Haveaqualifiedtechnician
replaceanyfrayedordamagedcords.
•Inspectforsecuregrounding.
•Inspectraillatches.Ensurethatallrailsengageandlockas
specified.
•Inspectrailsforwearanddamageandreplaceasrequired.
•Lubricaterailpivotpointsasneededwithwhitelithiumgrease.
•Inspectbed,rails,AssistRailsorAssistBarsforthepresenceof
tubingendcapsandreplaceasrequired.
•Tighten,adjustorreplaceanypartsorboltsetc.thatareloose
orshowsignsofwear.
•Lubricateallmechanicalhingepoints,bushings,andsurface
contactpointswithwhitelithiumgrease.
•Inspectforwearonclevispinsandhitchpinsandreplaceif
wornormissing.
•Inspecttherailsfornoticeablescratchesandchips.Usea
matchingenameltouchuppainttoretouchifnecessary.(Refer
toOptionsforpaintspecification).
7.3QuarterlyMaintenanceCheck
•Unplugbedfromwalloutletandverifybatteryfunction,if
equipped.Batterymaybebuilt-inorportable.
