8.1Maintenanceintroduction
Theterm“Maintenance“meansanytaskperformedto
ensurethatamedicaldeviceisingoodworkingorder
andreadyforuseasintended.Maintenanceencompasses
differentareas,suchaseverydaycareandcleaning,
inspectionchecks,repairtasksandrefurbishment.
Haveyourvehiclecheckedonceayearbyan
authorizedInvacareproviderinordertomaintainits
drivingsafetyandroadworthiness.
8.2Cleaningthemobilitydevice
Whencleaningthemobilitydevice,payattentiontothe
followingpoints:
•Onlyuseadampclothandgentledetergent.
•Donotuseanyabrasiveorscouringagents.
•Donotsubjecttheelectroniccomponentstoanydirect
contactwithwater .
•Donotuseanyhigh-pressurecleaningdevices.
Disinfection
Sprayorwipedisinfectionusingatestedandrecognised
productispermitted.Alistofthecurrentpermitted
disinfectantsisavailablefromtheRobertKochInstituteat
http://www.rki.de.
8.3Inspectionchecks
Thefollowingtablelistsinspectionchecksthatshouldbeperformedbytheuserandtheirintervals.Ifthemobilitydevicefailsto
passoneoftheinspectionchecks,pleaserefertothechapterindicatedorcontactyourauthorisedInvacaredealer .Amore
comprehensivelistofinspectionchecksandinstructionsformaintenanceworkcanbefoundintheservicemanualforthis
device,whichcanbeobtainedfromInvacare.Thatmanual,however,isintendedtobeusedbytrainedandauthorisedservice
technicians,anddescribestaskswhicharenotintendedtobeperformedbytheuser.

CheckfunctionPleasecontactyourdealerincaseoffailure.
Tires:
Checkforforeignbodies(glasssplinters,nails)anddamage.Replace
tireifnecessary.
