4.2 Matrix Leaving Water Temperature (LWT) Selecon
The recommended design LTW ranges for dierent types of heat emier are:
§ For oor heang: 30 to 35C
§ For fan coil units: 30 to 45C
§ For low temperature radiators: 40 to 50C
4.3 Opmizing System Design
To get the most comfort with the lowest energy consumpon with Matrix , it is important to take account of the
following consideraons:
§ Choose heat emiers that allow the heat pump sy
st
em to operate at as low a hot water temperature as possible
whilst sll providing sucient heang.
§ Make sure the correct weather dependency curve is selected to match the installaon environment (building
structure, climate) as well as ender users demands.
§ Connecng room thermostats (field supplied) to the hydronic system helps prevent excessive space heang by
stopping the outdoor unit and circulator pump when the room temperature is above the thermostat set p
oi
nt.
4.4 Tank back up heater noce
Heat pump will stop when T5(tank temperature) has reached the minimum of both T5S(tank seng temperature) and
T5stop (highest tank temperature which can be reached under certain ambient temperature with heat pump only) and
lasted for 5s. The value of T5stop is shown as below.
If T5S is higher than T5stop, then T5S can not be reached with heat pump only. In this case, tank back up heater is needed
in order to reach T5S.
