- The test is performed on two lines, that are both short-circuited
to ground at the far end.
- Line 2 is connected to the current output source; it is also
necessary to connect the output in series with the external
current meter.
- Line 1 is connected to the 10 V measurement input: this is VF.
- Open SU3000. Connect one side to ground, and the other side to
two cables: one will go to T 2000, the other to the line 2. Note
that until the device is OPEN, the switch is open, and there is no
ground connection.
- Close SU3000, close the switch: the cable is connected to
ground. Now you can connect to T 2000, and to line 2, that will
be closed to ground.
- Connect to ground the other output of T 2000.
- Connect the 10 V voltage measurement input to line 1 (red
connector) and to ground (black connector).
- SU3000 should now be opened, and the test can be started.
- Slowly increase the output current, and verify the beta factor in
module and argument. As it is a ratio, its value should not change
very much as the current is increased.
- Do not increase the current above 10 A, as otherwise the
current measurement would saturate.
- When you are satisfied with the measurement, press SAVE.
- You can repeat the test with other lines, to verify that the
measured beta is the same.
