UNPACKING
Be careful not to drop parts while unpacking the
crate.
1. Remove the 18 bolts attaching the upper
frame.
2. Carefully lift up the upper frame with help from
an assistant taking care not to strike the
outboard motor.
3. Lift up and remove the corrugated cardboard
cover.
4. Remove the parts carton from the crate.
Compare the parts to the parts list (see
page 18-5).
5. Remove the protective covers.
6. Open the three lock levers, and then remove
the engine cover.
CAUTION
The steel crate frame may have sharp edges or
burrs.
You can be cut or injured if you come in contact
with sharp metal.
Always wear heavy gloves during unpacking to
protect your hands from any sharp edges and
burrs on the steel crate frame.
