6C–6 ENGINE FUEL
1. Remove the fuel filter with a filter wrench.
CAUTION: Be careful not to spill the fuel remaining
in the fuel filter when removing the filter.
2. Remove the overflow valve.
3. Remove the fuel filter body.
Inspection and Repair
Check the overflow valve for restrictions and/or leakage.
Overflow valve opening pressure 230 – 260 kPa
(33 – 38 psi).
Reassembly
1. Install the overflow valve to the fuel filter body.
2. Install the fuel filter.
• Before installating a new fuel filter, apply fuel to
the gasket.
• Turn in the new fuel filter until the filter gasket
comes in contact with its sealed face.
• Use a filter wrench to turn in the fuel filter an
additional 1/2 – 3/4 of a turn.
