6G–14 ENGINE LUBRICATION
Disassembly
1. Use the filter wrench 1-85221-097-0 to remove the
oil filter.
2. Remove the by-pass valve.
Discard the gasket.
3. Remove the oil filter body from the cylinder body.
Discard the gaskets.
Inspection and Repair
1. Inspect the by-pass valve for restrictions.
2. Inspect the oil filter.
• Inspect the orifice of the partial oil filter for
restriction.
• Supply compression air to the orifice (indicated by
a arrow).
• Confirm that air blows out from the holes of the oil
filter installation joint.
Reassembly
1. Install the oil filter body with new gaskets to the
cylinder block.
• Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Torque: 37 N·m (3.8 kgm/27 lbft)
2. Install the by-pass valve with new gasket to the filter
body.
• Tighten the valve to the specified torque.
Torque: 37 N·m (3.8 kgm/27 lbft)
