Remove the impeller
CAUTION:
Wear heavy work gloves when you handle impellers. The sharp edges can cause physical injury.
1. Loosen the set screw at the end of the impeller nut.
2. Loosen and remove the impeller nut.
The impeller nut has left-hand threads.
3. Pull the impeller from the shaft.
Use a spanning-type puller if required.
4. Remove the impeller key.
Save the key for reassembly unless it is damaged.
5. For L group models only, do the following:
a) Remove the casing (100) to adapter (108) bolts.
b) Remove casing. Do not remove casing collar (155) at this time.
c) Remove the adapter (108) to column bolts.
d) Remove the adapter. Do not remove steady bearing (197) at this time.
