How do I troubleshoot a motor starter failure on my Jet Planer?
- KKrista HenrySep 9, 2025
Examine the motor starter for burned or failed components and replace it if damage is found. If the motor starter looks okay but is still suspect, have a qualified electrician test it, or purchase a new starter to see if that resolves the problem. If you have a voltmeter, verify incoming voltage at 230+/-10% and check the voltage between starter and motor at 230+/-10%. Incorrect incoming voltage indicates a power supply problem; incorrect voltage between starter and motor indicates a starter problem; correct voltage between starter and motor indicates a motor problem.
