6.1.2 Weights positioning Modes
NORMAL (ALU 0)
Used for steel rims.
ALU mode
U
sed fo
r light alloy rims or where one or more stick-
on weights are to be used.
The stick-on weight(s) must be applied by hand.
Hidden Weight Mode (HWM)
Used for light alloy rims or for wheels that are
diffi cult to balance.
There are two HWM ALU modes (ALU2P & ALU3P).
These differ from other ALU modes in that the
weights on the left and right balancing planes are
both applied in the inner part of the rim (Figure 6-4).
The stick-on weight(s) must be applied with the
gauge arm. This guarantees more accurate weight
positioning compared to applying the stick-on
weight(s) by hand.
Note: If the stick-on weight must be hidden
behind two spokes, select the Split Weight
Mode before applying the weight in the
right plane (F 7.
0.4
).

No “left” or “right” weight is calculated.
