Chapter - Pneumatic System
Pneumatic Valve Island - Fault situation 1
Key on Chassis, JVM starts to boot up.
VM10 LEDs
For 1-2 seconds after ignition on
Quick flashing of Red ‘Error’
Quick flashing of Green ‘Run’
Solid Green 5V
Solid Green 12/24V
After 2 seconds and until the JVM shows
the clock page
Quick flashing of Red ‘Error’
Quick flashing of Green ‘Run’
Solid Green 5V
Solid Green 12/24V
Once JVM shows the clock page
Quick flashing of Red ‘Error’
Quick Flashing of Green ‘Run’
Solid Green 5V
Solid Green 12/24V
VM10 will then not work correctly due to
flashing red Error and flashing green Run
LEDs
This problem is caused by a loss of CAN0 line
from the Powapak IO node to VM10
Check security of sockets and pins at X7
64 pins and 65
(Top LH 70 way Powapak IO Node
connector in systems locker)
Check security of sockets and pins at
X607 pins 11 and 12
(Top LH 18 way connector in systems
locker)
Measure resistance across X7 pins 64
and 65, should be 120ohms
Check continuity between X7 pin 64 and
X10 pin 5 (X10 = Front M12 Connector)
Check continuity between X7 pin 65 and
X10 pin 4 (X10 = Front M12 Connector)
Pneumatic Valve Island - Fault situation 2
Key on Chassis, JVM starts to boot up.
VM10 LEDs
For 1-2 seconds after ignition on
Quick flashing of Red ‘Error’
Quick flashing of Green ‘Run’
Solid Green 5V
Solid Green 12/24V
After 2 seconds and until the JVM shows
the clock page
Red ‘Error’ goes off
Slow Flashing of Green ‘Run’
Solid Green 5V
Solid Green 12/24V
Once JVM shows the clock page
Red ‘Error’ remains off
Slow flashing of Green ‘Run’
Solid Green 5V
Solid Green 12/24V
VM10 will then not work correctly due to
the slow flashing green Run LEDs
One cause of this problem is a loss of CAN0
line from the Powapak IO Node towards the
other IO nodes and cab (VM10 can see at
least the Powapak IO node on the CAN)
This would also result in a loss of 1 or more IO
nodes
Another cause is a loss of one of the CAN
wires connected to the VM10 so that it only
has a CAN HI or CAN LO connection. (Losing
both CANs will trigger fault 1)
Check CAN network screen in JVM to
see if any other IO nodes are not on the
network. Investigate connection at these
nodes if any are not detected.
If all 3 IO Nodes are present on the network
and working correctly
Check security of sockets and pins at X7
64 pins and 65
Check security of sockets and pins at
X607 pins 11 and 12
Measure resistance across X7 pins 64
and 65, should be 120ohms
Check continuity between X7 pin 64 and
X10 pin 5 (X10 = Front M12 Connector)
Check continuity between X7 pin 65 and
X10 pin 4 (X10 = Front M12 Connector)
