Nominal heat output is achieved when the air vent is open
approx.30%. Max. heat output is achieved when the air vent
isopenapprox.50%.
Initial lighting
• Open the air vent and ignition vent by pulling the handles
allthewayout.(Useagloveorsomethingsimilartoprotect
your hand in case the handles are hot.).

• Place two logs atthebottomoftheburnchamberandpile
the kindling in layers.
• Finally,placeamedium-sizedlogonthetopofthepile.
• Place 2 or 3 briquettes or kindling sticks under the top layer
ofkindlingandlightthere.NB: The maximum height of
the pile of the wood should be just below the horizontal
holes. The holes must not be covered.
• Youcanthenregulatetherateofcombustiontogivethe
heat you want by adjusting the air vent (g. 11).
• Checkthattheafterburning(secondarycombustion)starts.
Thisisbestindicatedbyyellow,ickeringamesinfrontof
theholesunderthebafe.
• Iftheairowisnormalyouwillbeabletoshutthedoorand
therewilltakecareofitself.
Adding rewood
Stokethestovefrequentlybutonlyaddsmallamountsoffuel
atatime.Ifthestove islled toofull, theheat createdmay
causeextremestressinthechimney.Add fuel to the re in
moderation.Avoidsmoulderingresasthisproducesthemost
pollution.Thereisbestwhenitisburningwellandthesmoke
fromthechimneyisalmostinvisible.
5.1 Danger of overheating
The replace must never be used in a
manner that causes overheating
Overheating occurs when there is too much fuel and/or too
much air so that too much heat develops. A sure sign of
overheating is when parts of the replace glow red. If this
happens,reducetheairventopeningimmediately.
Seek professional advice if you suspect that the chimney is
not drawing properly (too much/too little draught). For further
information,see«4.0 Installation» (Chimney and ue pipe).
5.2 Ash removal
• Only remove ash when the fireplace is cold.
• Use a scoop or similar to remove the ash through the door.
Always leave some ash as a protective layer on the bottom of
the fireplace.
