4.7 Entering narrow aisles

Do not enter any aisle unless it is vacant.
Stop the truck immediately when per-
sons are present in the aisle!
Truck with rail guidance (o)
Drive the truck slowly up to the aisle so
that it is in true alignment with the ais-
le.

Heed the marks on the driving lane (e.g.
aisle centre line).
Slowly drive ahead; make sure that
the guide rollers (37) of the truck enga-
ge in the lateral rails (36) of the aisle.

If the truck is fitted with the “Aisle re-
cognition” option, the maximum speed is
also available when the driver stand
platform is lifted beyond 1200 mm or
450 mm (in the case of trucks with an
auxiliary lifting unit (o)).
In the rail guidance mode, the steering
system (3) is deactivated. The drive
wheel is automatically set to the straight
ahead position.
In narrow aisles, driving and lifting/lo-
wering is only possible when the
“Two-hand operation” key (2, 25) is
also pressed.

After the truck has left the narrow aisle,
the truck is automatically switched to
manual steering. The driver must use
the steering wheel (3, 24) to steer the
truck.
Always lower the load for travelling out-
side narrow aisles!
