link-local—Enable primary or client to choose either of the two MAC addresses dened in the IEEE 1588-2008
standard. When you congure this opon, the system aempts to use the MAC address (link-local mulcast address) for
mulcast transmission.
If the link-local mulcast address is not available, the system uses the standard Ethernet mulcast address as a second
priority. The link-local mulcast MAC address ensures complete end-to-end support of PTP and eliminate the chance of
packet transmission through any network element that does not support PTP. The address is the default address for
G.8275.1 (PTP prole for me or phase distribuon), and a node with this MAC address is a node that supports
processing of PTP packets.
