link-local—Enable primary or client to choose either of the two MAC addresses dened in the IEEE 1588-2008
standard. When you congure this opon, the system aempts to use the MAC address (link-local mulcast address) for
mulcast transmission.
If the link-local mulcast address is not available, the system uses the standard Ethernet mulcast address as a second
priority. The link-local mulcast MAC address ensures complete end-to-end support of PTP and eliminate the chance of
packet transmission through any network element that does not support PTP. The address is the default address for
G.8275.1 (PTP prole for me or phase distribuon), and a node with this MAC address is a node that supports
processing of PTP packets.
