6. Auto tape select mechanism (decks A
and B)
This deck has an Auto Tape Select mecha-
nism which distinguishes between different
types of tape from holes in the cassette. After
the type of tape has been detected, bias and
equalization are set to be suitable for the
tape.
« Cassettes with the detection holes: Metal
tape (EQ: 7OUS) «2... cseeesenereeees Type IV
CrO.(chrome) tape (EQ: 70s) ...... Type I

Normal tape (EQ: 120us)..... Type |
Some earlier types of metal and CrO,
(chrome) tapes may not be provided with the
detection holes. Avoid using such tapes,
since correct equalization characteristics can-
not be obtained. Also do not use ferrichrome
tapes whose characteristics do not match this
unit.

7. Other
When the POWER switch is turned on or off
with the deck set to the playback or recording
mode, noise may be generated. Before turn-
ing the POWER switch on or off, confirm that
the ll (stop) button has been pressed.
SELECTING THE AC
SUPPLY VOLTAGE
(U-version only)
The A/B/C/E/G/J-version is not provided
with voltage selector.
When this deck is used in an area where the
supply voltage is different from the preset
voltage, reset the voltage selector to the cor-
rect position.
Slide the voltage selector with a screwdriver
so that the desired voltage marking is in the
window.
Caution:
Disconnect supply cord before changing the
voltage.

Dieses Gerat verfiigt Uber einen Band-
sortenselektor, der die unterschiedlichen
Bandsorten tber Identifikationséffnungen im
Cassettengehause feststellt. Nach Identifizie-
rung der Bandsorte werden Vormagnetisie-
rung und Entzerrung der Bandsorte angepapa.

Einige frihere Metallband- und Chromband-
Typen sind eventuell nicht mit diesen
identifikations6ffnungen ausgestattet. Benut-
zen Sie diese Cassetten nicht, da mit diesen
Cassetten der korrekte Entzerrpegel nicht
erzielt werden kann.
Verwenden Sie auch keine Eisenchrom-
bader, da deren Charakteristika denen dieses
GerAat nicht entsprechen.
7. Weiteres
Wenn das
Deck bei
Wiedergabe- oder Aufnahmefunktion mit dem
POWER-Schalter ein- und ausgeschaitet
wird, kénnen Stdrgerausche auftreten. Vor
Betatigen der POWER-Schalters darauf acht-
en, daB die Ml (Stop)-Taste betatigt wurde.

Die Modelle A/B/C/E/G/J-version sind
nicht mit Spannungswahler ausgestattet.
Wenn das Cassetten-Deck in einem Gebiet
verwendet wird, in dem die
Spannungsversorgung und die vorher
eingestellte Spannung verschieden sind, den
Spannungswahler in die richtige Stellung
drehen.n.
Schieben Sie den Spannungswahier mit
einem Schraubenzieher bis die gewtinschte
Spannung im Fenster erscheint.

6. Mécanisme de sélection automatique
de bande (platines A et B)
Cet appareil est muni d'un mécanisme de
sélection automatique de bande qui détecte
les différents types de bande par les trous de
la cassette. Aprés que le type de bande ait
été détecté, la polarisation et |'égalisation
sont régiées au mieux pour cette bande.
e Cassette avec trous de détection:
Bandes métal (EQ: 70 ps) ............ Type IV
Bandes CrO. (chrome) (EQ: 70 us) .... Type HI
e Cassette sans trous de detection: .
Bande ordinaire(EQ:120 ys) ............ Type |
ll est possible que certains anciens types de
bandes méta! ou CrO» (chrome) ne soient
pas munis de ces trous spéciaux. Eviter de .
les utiliser car la caractéristique de compen-
sation correcte ne peut pas étre obtenue.
Ne pas utiliser non plus de bandes fer-
richrome dont les caractéristiques ne convi-
ennent pas a cette platine.

Si linterrupteur POWER est manipulé alors
que la platine est en lecture ou enreg-
istrement, du bruit peut étre généré. Avant de
manipuler l’interrupteur POWER, s’assurer
que !a touche Ml (arrét) a été appuyée.
CHANGEMENT DE LA
TENSION D’ALIMENTA-
TION
(Version U seulement)
La Version A/B/C/E/G/J n’est pas muni de
sélecteur de tension.
Si l'on utilise cet appareil dans un endroit ou
la tension est différente de cele prérégiée, il
convient de régier le sélecteut de tension sur
la position correcte.
Faire glisser le sélecteur de tension a l'aide
d’un tournevis de maniére a ce que l’index de
la tension désirée apparaisse cans la fenétre.
Précaution:
Débrancher la prise avant de shanger la ten-
sion.
