Power
This camcorder's 3-way power supply system lets you
chor)se the most appropriate source of Dower. Do not LlSe
provided pr)wer supply units with other equipment.
CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK
Make sure you unplug the camcorder's DC cord from
the A( Power Adal)ter/Charger. Plug the AC Adapter/
Charger's power cord into an AC outlet.
Align the marl<s and slide the battery pacl< in the
direction of the arrow until it locks in [)lace. The
( HARGE indicator begins blinking to indicate
charging has started.
When the ( HARGE indicator stops blinldng but stays
lit, charging is finished. Slide the battery in the
opposite directirln of the arrow and lift off. Remember
to unplug the A( Adapter/( harger's power cord from
the A( outlet.

ATTENTION:
( harging a battery with some charge
remaining reduces that battery's capacity.
Perform the procedure below to fully
discharge the battery pacl< before
rechanging.
1. Attach the battery pacl< to the camcorder
and mal<e sure a cassette is not inserted,
then set the Power Switch to "AUT()" or
"PRO.".
2. The camcorder power turns off
automatically when discharging is
complete.
When yrlu are not using a battery pacl< for
a long period of time, be sure to fully
discharge it before storing because leaving
a battery with some charge left over also
redtlces perforll/a nce.
Charge Marker
A charge marl<er is provided on the battery pack to help
you remember whether it has been charged or not. Two
colors are provided (red and black) you choose which
one means charged and which means discharged.
NOTES:

and _°C (_@*F and _25°F;. 20 ° t_*25°C (68°F to 77_*F; is
the ideal temperature rarlge for charging,. If the environ-
17}e/-}tis to() _old], charging may be incomplete.
Charging times noted above are J;r a fully discharEed
battery pack.
Charging time varies according to the ambient
temperature and the status of the battery pack.
T_)aw)id interference with receptiorb do not use the AC
R)wer Adal_ter/Charg, er near a radio.
If you connect the camcorder'_ DC cord to the a&_pter
during battery charging, power is supplied to the
camcorder and charging stops.
Since the AC Power Adaptel/Charger processes
electricity irttemally, it becomes warm during use. Be
sure to use it orlly irl well-ventilated areas.
When charging the battery pack lbr the first time or after
a I_;ng st_)rage period, the CHARGE indicator may riot
light. In this case, remove the battery pack from the AC
R)wer Adapte_/Charger, then try charging again.
If the batter), operatior_ time remains extremely short
even after having been tblly charged, the battery is worn
()tit arid need_ t_; be replaced. Please purchase a rlew
one.
Remember to set the charge marker after charging a
battery pack or after detaching a discharEed one fr_)m
your cal)gcordec
